- Tate Modern: entry to the collection is free; some exhibitions are ticketed.[3] About 20 minutes' walk west along the river. See Bankside.
- Winchester Palace: the ruins on Clink Street are free and can be seen from the street at any time.[4]
- The riverside walk: the south bank here is part of the Thames Path National Trail.[8] Try our two easy walks.
- Hay's Galleria: walk through the old wharf to see David Kemp's moving sculpture The Navigators.[9] See Hay's Galleria and HMS Belfast.
- Sky Garden: a free view over London from 1 Sky Garden Walk, across the river in the City. Booking a free ticket in advance is recommended; walk-ins are sometimes possible if there's space.[5]
- St Magnus the Martyr: the church at the north end of the old bridge welcomes visitors to see its 4-metre model of old London Bridge.[6] Its tower arch was once the old bridge's footway entrance.[7] We couldn't find an entry charge on its site; check its opening days first.
